Support for
International Students
Through Student Support and Wellbeing, the university
provides a specialist service for International and European Union students
with physical, neurological, and medical conditions and impairments.
Experienced professionals can assess students' needs, develop access procedures
and therapies, and arrange and monitor support throughout their courses.
Furthermore, the university recognizes that support systems in higher education
vary around the globe. As a result, a disabled student transitioning from one
culture to another may require advice and help both before and throughout their
university experience.
The university also tailors its help by assessing the
student's unique needs. Students who are on medication or receiving therapy
before attending university, for example, receive assistance in recognizing and
managing the different medical procedures in their home and host countries.
Furthermore, by detecting differences, needs, and support requirements early
on, the university can help international scholars have a terrific university
experience and reach their full potential at Kent.

University’s
Goal for International Students
● Assess foreign students' needs so that they can make a
smooth transition to the University of Kent.
●
Provide personal and organizational growth opportunities
● Advisory services in all areas of disability are provided
throughout the application process, prior to arrival and enrolling, and during
the academic year (sensory and mobility differences, medical conditions, autism, and attention deficits, specific learning differences, mental health, chronic
and medical conditions).
● Specialized services should be provided with the purpose of
building a customized wellness strategy for potential students.
● Make referrals to other specialized complementary services
at the institution (for example inclusive technology and specialist equipment,
non-medical help such as study skills tutoring, mentoring, note-taking, etc.)
● Recommend student groups that promote and facilitate activities for and with international students.
●
Keep an eye on the development and coordination of
interventions during the graduating year.
●
Prepare for your departure from Kent and whatever your
future steps may be.
Scholarships
and Funding
The Institution of Kent is committed to aiding international
handicapped students with their studies, and they encourage all international
disabled students to register with their services as soon as possible so that
the university can develop students' support packages as soon as possible. The
majority of academic-related disability services offered by universities are
free of charge and may include the development of an Inclusive Learning Plan
(ILP), support with note-taking, test preparation, and mentorship. Some
scholarships and funding may be available. For example,
● Whether you have a sponsor, ask them if they can assist you
with disability-related costs. Some scholarships, for example, grant funding to
cover disability-related fees.
● You could be eligible for a grant from your own government,
so check with your education department to see what help they can provide.
●
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in your own country
may be able to help you.
